I have promised before that I am going to write a feedback and my own experience for the PC Fair. Well, now I am.
For the first time, I went to the fair for all 3 days although I was not working part time at there.
In order to enter the mail hall, you need to walk for a big round, then only you enter.
Many people will buy speakers, flashdrive, memory card, printer, laptops and etc during the fair because they are cheaper than the normal price. Warranty may be a problem.
Here is the telecommunication and credit card part, where I was quite annoying. Everyone were trying their best to attract the crowd attention.
I think this picture is a good metaphor for that part. Staff in orange, green and blue represent Streamyx, Maxis and Celcom Broadband. Not much different from the previous fair.
Here's the one that caught much of my attention. This is the P1 WiMAX by Packet One Company. The WiMAX coverage will be provided until this year Q1.
This is really the big features. For the 2.4Mbps package that I tested at the site, the download speed and upload speed are 2256kb/s and 466kb/s respectively. Whoa !! Very unusual for something that is wireless. I think this is the alternative for my Streamyx.
As you can see on the board, it stated "Speaker and Audio". This means you need to get ready when you are going to enter that zone.
This zone was very noisy. This is the place where people buy the ideal speaker to blast their roof off.
Here I found the GPS, stands for Global Positioning Satelite. I found it is quite interesting. There was even a model that can speak Hokkien dialect.
Finally ! I reached the door to the main hall. Tiring yet fun. Hehex.
There were only 4 words that can describe the view, i.e. People Mountain People Sea.
I arrived the fair at 4pm. I came out at 8pm. You may ask what the hell I was doing in the fair.
Nevertheless, I was not window shopping. I came out with this, the Samsung 3-in-1 SCX4200 Mono Laser Printer. They even gave me a free trolley so that I can took the printer out easily. I have to admit this is a very good free gift.
Conclusion:
For me, this December 2008 Fair is not much different from the previous, except for the P1 WiMAX.
For those who intend to go there and buy the gadget, I have some tips for you all:
First, please do a shopping list before going into the fair.
Second, do some research on the product that you are interested before you bought it in the fair.
Third, remember to check out where the actual shop is. This is very important if the products goes wrong and you need to claim the warranty.
Fourth, go with friends. This may be not so bored.
If you want to share anything about your experience about PC Fair or gadget, please comment. Thanks a lot.
